What the blood pressure is infact

Blood pressure is the term, that is frequently used among patients. What the blood pressure is infact? Actually blood pressure is the force that is excreted by the blood upon the blood vessels. If this force is more/less than normal force, it will start to make problems.

Mathematically blood pressure is the multiplication of cardiac out put and peripheral resistance.

  • Cardiac out put is the amount of blood, that heart pushes in one beat. i) more forcefully the heart contracts more blood is pushed by it, ii) more speedily heart beats, more blood would be pushed.
  • Peripheral resistance is the resistance offered by blood vessels to the blood in its flow, i) Narrower the blood vessels would be, more will be the resistance, ii) wider the blood vessels would be, less will be the resistance.

If someone is having high blood pressure, either his/her cardiac output is more or the peripheral resistance is high, On the other hand if someone is having low blood pressure, then either  his/her cardiac out put is low or peripheral resistance is low.

Third factor may be the blood volume, which infact alter peripheral resistance so more blood volume(like in constipation), more would be blood pressure, and less the blood volume ( like in diarrhea), less the blood pressure.

High/Low blood pressure may be primary, that is without any cause, or it may be secondary that is with some primary cause, so if someone is having abnormal readings, it is very important  to find primary cause if any to treat it, where the most common initial investigations involve to find Kidney functions, and Lipid profile test.
